Except for the re-signing of K Mason Crosby to a five-year contract, and the 15 undrafted free agents signed, the Green Bay Packers have only been making news this week when they announce a player won't be returning next season. But it isn't all bad news as they appear to be on schedule to sign all their draft picks. From the Press-Gazette:
The Packers and the agent for first-round draft pick Derek Sherrod have agreed on the numbers, but they’re still haggling over how many years of the deal the Packers are willing to guarantee, a source said.
He also points out an interesting new development: all first round draft picks now have guaranteed contracts. The total contract value is a lot lower than it was in past years, but making it fully guaranteed helps, at least in part, make up for it.
Reminder: training camp starts tomorrow, July 30th.
