The Green Bay Packers aren't starting their preseason until Saturday night in Cleveland. But there are five preseason games tonight, and they should be about as (un)entertaining as usual. I'm expecting to see mostly backups and guys battling for a roster spot. But at least it's (sort of) real NFL football!
The games will be on locally, but NFL Network will be checking in on all five games live (if that channel is available on your cable system). Here's the preview of all five games from SB Nation.
I'm expecting that the most interesting game will be the Ravens and Eagles. Vince Young is expected to play the second quarter, and I want to see how he looks. I expect most of the starters will only make a brief first quarter appearance, if they're not held out as an injury precaution.
