The Packers may have the most decorated schedule in NFL history. They have four prime-time games, three on NBC's Sunday Night Football and one on ESPN's Monday Night Football. The schedule also includes five other late-afternoon Sunday games. They are the first team to play on Thanksgiving, Christmas day, and New Years day.
They open the season Thursday against the Saints, which pits the last two Super Bowl Champions against each other. Though it's the first game of the season it could be very important come January for playoff seeding. The Packers and Saints both have Super Bowl aspirations and this first game could be the difference between a home game in January or going on the road.
The most difficult part of the schedule will be weeks 10-12. Those three games will be played in 11 days. It starts with a Monday Night game hosting Minnesota, continuing in Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and concluding Week 12 in Detroit on Thanksgiving.
Their biggest advantage, is getting three of the final four games at home. Home games are always a big advantage, even more so in December. That includes a Week 16 rematch of last years NFC Championship game against the Bears on Christmas Day.
Its hard to say who the Packers biggest competition in the NFC North will be. I predict the Packers will win the NFC North this year. I also think they will get a top seed and Aaron Rodgers will finally get to start a home playoff game.
My Prediction: 12-4
