It's Getting Cold In Green Bay, Brad Jones Takes Over As The Starter, And Rodgers On The Philbin Tragedy

Giants playoff week: Thursday Packers practice report - JSOnline. Only backup LB Robert Francois has been held out of practice due to an injury (hamstring). The weather is getting cold in Green Bay with snow in the forecast by Friday. LT Chad Clifton has taken over for Marshall Newhouse as the starting left tackle (no surprise), and LB Brad Jones has taken over for Erik Walden on the outside (no surprise after Jones had a strong game against the Lions in Week 17).

Sports Radio Interviews " Blog Archive " Packers vs. Giants: Aaron Rodgers Prepares Green Bay for Repeat Super Bowl Run while Team Mourns Tragedy Beset upon Joe Philbin’s Family. Most of the interview is about the tragic death of Michael Philbin, with a few words about the talented players on the Giants defense. Here's what he had to say about tragedy coming at the same time as a playoff game:

We’re all professionals and you have to be able to separate the off the field from the on field stuff and make sure when you’re at work it’s your main focus, but we’re human as well. The human element in this is that it’s on your mind, you’re thinking about it, you’re thinking about Joe, you’re going to miss Joe.

I hope that Jones can offer some pressure on the QB and free up Matthews more on the other side. If that happens – this could be another great playoff run!!

ROLB

I’m glad Erik Walden is finally being benched. I was hoping Zombo would get more playing time, but hopefully Brad Jones proves to us why he should be the starter against the Giants. I’m looking forward to an opportunistic Jones proving that he should be on the field.

Gentlemen and women, start your snow shovels!
The forecast is calling for about 4 to 6 inches of snow by Friday.

We've probably had more than you

in the last 48 hours.

Results of a winter weather advisory very similar to the one in Green Bay.

(We just don’t have a stadium to clear out by Sunday.) :)

I'm in Missouri, we only got an inch, but it came in insane winds that I jokingly called a flurricane that was insane to try to drive in

And of course, thin layers of snow always freeze overnight sinew have ice everywhere. Atleast we don’t have four inches or something (you see what I did there? OMG lol)

In Tennessee

we got about a half inch and they cancelled school. Seriously, people think it’s like Mario lava or something and instantly panic.

This is my kind of football weather!

I can’t wait to attend a playoff game someday at Lambeau in those weather conditions. I’ve been to a number of freezing, cold-weather football games (mostly on the college level) and I’ve enjoyed all of them.

I will be all bundled up and ready to go. I will make a ton of noise. I’m an owner now, so the team’s success reflects on me, and I’m here to help. Bring it, January.

Not me.

I’m just fine with the weather we’ve had here in Nebraska the last few weeks (minus Wed-Thurs).

Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!

After the KU-Nebraska game in 2008 (which I attended)...

…one of the NU student leaders was asked why there had been empty student section seats that day, and he said that one could either freeze at the game or enjoy the match-up on TV in a warm dorm room.

I wanted to wring his neck! Does he have any idea how many people would love to have his tickets? Yes, cold weather can sometimes be a pain, but it’s game day, man! Show up, make noise, enjoy the elements!

Haven't seen one, yet, but,

given the forecast, I figured it was inevitable.
