every game this year Tramon has been 8-10 yards deep at the onset of the snap… it’s not like he’s a bad cover guy either, but if you don’t give the guy something to think about at the line, they’re gonna have such an easy time for the WR’s.

I really don’t care if Dom Capers leaves for Oakland, since some of his play calls have been absolutely atrocious, especially playing zone on that third down and leaving a wide open hole in the middle of the field.
The defense has been fairly disappointing in some regards all year.

Defense wins championships.
Rodgers ran well.
Only 81 yds rushing between starks, grant, saine and kuhn. Also 2 costly fumbles by our backs.

3 fumbles and 9 drops. Gotta play smart guys. Lang has looked good too, but he got of the snap slow, and diagnosed plays slow. Directly lead to one sack fumble when we should have had a TD.

It’s just that a passing offense can’t be the staple of your team. The Saints and Packers already learned the hard way. They are mediocre teams disguised by historically great passing offenses. Both will suffer next year…I can easily see Detroit and Carolina winning the North and South, respectively.

Thats not an injury a lot of guys come back from as the same. And our defense was struggling before he left.
Still, he is one of the best safeties in the league. No doubt losing him hurt. Peprah played well filling in at safety last year for Burnett. This year he was horrible.
Burnett is really talented though, and played very well late this year. I’m excited to see how he progresses.

well if you looked at the two organizations at the time
and the state of flux san diego was in, im not sure its a huge surprise. anyway, if that is the only gripe on eli, i guess it’s noted. but that was 8 years ago. and hes been nothing but a class act since then. and by the way, he’s mofing magic under pressure

Sneak into playoffs as 6 seed, get hot win superbowl. Enter as top seed, 15-1… one and done.
I’m not ready to chalk to up to “playing tight due to the one seed, the favorite” and all that. This team was defending champs.
Just simply didn’t execute on offense and make enough plays on defense. But I’m already hungry for next year, and I’m excited to see who we get in the draft and maybe if we nab a free agent or two (gasp).
Great season, was fun to watch this team. Loss stings, but shit we did win it all last year. Most people I know who root for another team have never seen their team play in a superbowl, let alone win one.

3) Yep. We drafted our LT of the future last draft, plus Newhouse should be better next year in case he still isn’t ready.
4) At least he got to win a title as a Packer. We’ll miss DD.
5) Hawk is too expensive for what he provides us. We need a speedier option next to Bishop who can cover RBs and TEs. A Derrick Johnson type (although I know those don’t grow on trees).
Now for the DLinemen, its clear we simply need a difference maker. Raji wore down this year, and he benefited from other lines keying on Jenkins. If we could find a true difference maker at the 3-4 DE spot, it would be a tremendous upgrade for the D. MUST improve the pass rush and be able to generate more without the blitz. This, to me, is priority number one this offseason.

And, secretly I’m hoping Capers goes too. His lack of adjustments this year was appalling. Pickett will be interesting as he was the best d-lineman, and Hawk is going nowhere. Neal will be back also, but will have to win a spot.
I think Capers moving on could be a good thing and bring in Spagnuolo. A fresh new approach to things could help or just going back to the basics.

Rushing only the DL and Matthews was NOT a success strategy by any stretch of the imagination. We couldn’t get to Manning consistently, and he picked apart the secondary.

Almost every QB did this season as the Packers couldn’t apply pressure at all this year. And the blitzes never worked as only Bishop had the speed to get there with any consistency.

That’s why you draft one or acquire one via FA and allow Matthews to make the plays (and difference) that a Ray Lewis makes or a Patrick Willis. This more than anything can help the run defence.

Yah, that’s why I thought the Rodgers should’ve played at least a half against the Lions in Week 17. But that’s all history and the Giants deserve full marks for the win today.

I think the fumbles were the real issue. If that was taken care of, something we have been really good at, we make more plays. Rodgers starting pressing out there, and the receivers dropped passes. Rodgers playing would not have helped the receivers catch balls or the running backs hold on to balls either.
