Keep Your Heads Up!
From experience, I know how hard it is when your team plays outstanding all season, then just checks out in the playoffs. Honestly, I think the bye hurt more than helped your team. with the dropped passes, fumbles, and Rodgers' uncharacteristic inaccuracy, your offense just seemed unable to shake off the rust.
Just for the record, I think the Packers are still one of the top teams in the league, loaded with youth and talent. This is not the end of the line for this team. You'll be right back in it next year no doubt.
I hope this post isn't coming off as patronizing or condescending, because I just wanted to let y'all know that even though they kinda forgot to show up yesterday, your team is still IMO a great one.
God Bless and Keep your Heads Up!

Good game by you guys, bad game by us.. that’s all there is to it. Congrats, and best of luck in your playoff run, BBB

I dont know what to make of the bye.
Ive never really understood how an athlete could get even the least bit rusty or off his game after an off week, but it appears to be happening to alot of good teams in the last few years. Plus, people forget that Rodgers actualyl got 2 weekends off. Anyways, thanks for stopping by.
Tajh Boyd and Dre' Ellington are the future.
Brandon Jennings; Just keep waiting people.
i think thats what worried me the most
is a lot of our important guys hadnt played a game or a full game since the chicago game on xmas eve..more than just a bye
Thanks for the kind words
But I really don’t buy into that rust stuff. Rodgers and the team still practiced all week, so its not like he actually had 3 weeks off with his feet in the air.
I know the way you meant this post and I appreciate the sentiment,
but one line in it irked me.
the Packers are still one of the top teams in the league
No. The Packers are THE top team in the league. One game doesn’t change that, it just might narrow the gap a bit. There’s a reason cliches are cliches. It’ because they’re usually right. And there’s a reason “Any Given Sunday” is one of the biggest cliches in football.
So again, thanks for the post, good luck to your guys for the rest of the playoffs, and thanks for showing that not all your fanbase is made up of a-holes, but I’m going to have a hard time believing that the best team in the NFL will be crowned champion now that the Packers are out.
2011: A wasted year
wouldn't you say the SB champion is the best team in the league in whatever given year?
I do … I would say the Packers were the best team in the NFL for the past year.
It’s like when guys say “the better team lost.” I never agree with that sentiment, because to me, the better team is the one who wins. That’s the only evidence.
Curious to hear your thoughts. Kudos on a stellar season.

Agreed...
SB winner is the best. Because that’s the test of greatness, winning it when it’s all on the line. Maybe we have greater “potential”…but that means nothing. It’s what you do on the field that counts. When it’s all on the line.
I still think that Patriots team had more “potential” in 2007, even more talent. But the Giants were the better team, because when it was all on the line, you “stomped them out” like Michael Strahan famously put it.
You guys are better than us this year. You beat us when it was on the line.
Looking forward to the Packers three-peating and visiting President Ron Paul at the White House in 2013
as much as it hurts to say
I agree..u cant say we had the best team without even getting to the superbowl let alone winning it..next year is next year and we might be the best again but this year record means nothing without a ring in regards to the best argument
I think sometimes the better team can lose a game. I don’t know if that was totally the case here. I think they are pretty comparable (Giants and packers) but you guys certainly played like the better team this time. We were flat and just off, you guys were powering on ALL cylandars. Congrats, good luck next week.
The Green Bay Packers...Putting bad coaches out of their misery since 2010
I agree
The Superbowl determines the best team in the league, not the Regular Season. The Regular Season results are irrelevant once the playoffs begin. Whether you’re 16-0 or 9-7, it doesn’t matter, because once the playoffs start, it’s a whole new season.
One game at a time...
Thanks, and by the way...
Our loss really reminds of your 2007 to 2008 season ater you won the SuperBowl. Although Carolina beat you guys out for top seed in 2008, you guys played PHilly as I recall and lost in the divisional too.
So we sort of did the same thing from last year to this.
You know, all the drops and fumbles were VERY uncharacteristic (Trust us, rodgers can hit those passes in his sleep and Kuhn’s first fumble in his career! What the…!) But a big part of the reason we struggled was because of the way YOU GUYS PLAYED. That should emphasized throughout.
Good luck and I actually hope you beat the Niners! I can’t stand the Niners!
Looking forward to the Packers three-peating and visiting President Ron Paul at the White House in 2013
Actually we had the #1 seed in 08.
then lost to Philly in the divisional round. Actually I was thinking that 3 of the last 4 NFC champs have been a 3 seed or lower (no 1st round bye).
I agree with your other point also. I actually commented last week that our best chance to win was in attacking your offensive timing which would lead to drops and frustration. I didn’t count on all the fumbles. That was pretty crazy, and I don’t mind admitting that some luck factored in to that part of it.
Anyway, Congratulations to the Packers on a tremendous and historic season. Sorry it had to end earlier than you wanted it to.

You know what they say
Better to be lucky than good. Its an old cliche but true. Not to say you guys weren’t good, and that some of the errors weren’t forced, because that would be false.
It's how it goes...
One year it’s you, one year it’s us, now it’s your turn again. We don’t cut the line
According to the calendar, we have a date in 2012 in NYC. I’m double-circling that in red.
For now, thanks for the good words and good luck against Smith and Brady/Flacco.

Thanks and Congrats to you guys..
Your team played well and did what they had to do. You have a solid team and a real shot at the big game.
The few times I was over at your site, most fans were knowledgable and respectful..I heard Ed on Milwaukee radio, sounds like a good guy.
Good luck vs the Niners

Thanks...
Yeah it sucks, but we were simply outplayed. So congrats to the Giants. And yeah, this is a young team that looks to be contending for years, so there should be many exciting games in the future between these two teams. And I hope you’ll understand if I don’t wish you the best of luck for next weekends game lol.

at least it wasn't the bears or lions.
but i’d rather it be a team we didn’t beat in the regular season. MM is known for making freaking great changes in the second half of games, at least from what I see, and he didn’t do anything differently, except suck even more.
Capers is a freaking moron. He is the sole reason why they were dead last in defense… not the injuries, not the players we had, simply put, Capers is a moron. —-my reasoning. In a pass happy league, the best way to defend against WR’s is press man coverage. If you get called a few times for PI or holding, so be it, nature of the beast. It’s what we did so well last year when we bumrushed so many teams in winning the superbowl. this year, our idiot decided to play off of nearly every single reciever. I don’t know why, but perhaps 40% of the time, you couldn’t even see the person who was lined up over the WR on the television. What does this do?
1) gives the WR practice routes to run. it’s like running a training camp route but getting tackled at the end.
2) they can’t cover the WR screen at all – it’s giving the WR and QB a free 5-8 yards every time all day.
3) They’re relying on bad QB play from good QBs. It’s just not going to happen.
Sure, there are reasons for the decision to do this. no pass rush, safety injuries with Collins, but bottom line, Capers should have played the press man that won us the Superbowl. jamming a WR at the route breaks up the timing with the route — something we discovered against the Chiefs and relearned Sunday.
The defense has many of the pieces in place to be dominant. Woodson hasn’t lost a step, Williams is a good cover corner. Clay is great, and Bishop is as solid an ILB as I’ve seen since Brian Noble in GB. Burnett is a tough hitter with INT capabilities, and Raji and Pickett are great presences in the line.
We need to draft a DE / OLB on the other side of Matthews to kill the QB, and someone from Alabama to play amazing defense anywhere else.
But still, we should not have lost to your team. we beat ourselves. you just sat there and had a fantastic view of self destruction. Perhaps you pushed the button to blow us up, but I’ve seen us beat better defenses. Still, you won. I just really hate the Manning family.
we played off their receivers
because we had no pass rush. Everything that failed about our defense came down to how abysmally bad the right side of the front seven played this year, as well as losing our best defensive back. Since Tramon Williams and Woodson had to cover a lot more, they played off the receivers a lot more to make up time to cover. We were a pretty decent red zone defense for what it was worth, too.
I don't see anything wrong with that.
Is there anyone else who you’d put in that category right now?

Hence the "right now" part of my post.
And Woodson is not a pure defensive back. Not anymore.

"right now" Nick Collins is injured & can't play at all
so I don’t think he’s the best “right now”
13.
are they moving him to line backer or something?
or maybe a hybrid d-end/LB
