Former Packers Announcer Jim Irwin Has Died
Irwin, voice of the Packers, dies at 77 - JSOnline. It's been years since I've listened to a Green Bay Packers game on the radio. Back in the late 80s and early 90s, when I got frustrated with the lousy commentators on CBS (the Packers never merited Madden and Summerall in those days), I'd turn the volume down and turn on the radio to listen to Irwin and McGee. They retired from broadcasting back in 1998, and Max McGee died a couple years ago. Their radio broadcasts have been out of my life for a while, but those are some fond Packer memories.

Jim Irwin
My dad did the same thing when I was growing up in Milwaukee. Turn down the TV and turn up Jim and Max. I sometimes do something similar now with Sirius! RIP Mr. Irwin.
oh my max
may the angels lift your soul to heaven. . .
Somewhat off topic: Current radio team
Larry McCarren (Packers Center from 1973-1984) has been the color guy for a long while (wikipedia says since 1995)
Wayne Larrivee has been doing the play-by-play since 1999. He’s possibly most well known for his “there is your dagger!” call on game-clinching plays.
I can’t really say how they compare to Irwin and McGee, but I like Larrivee and McCarren a lot. If you can afford it, it’s worth the $30 to subscribe to NFL’s field pass to listen to them every game.
I just turn on the radio...
doesn’t cost me anything.

Not all of us can do that.
