Football Outsiders Recognizes Charlie Peprah's Season

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | Scramble for the Ball: 2011 All-KCW Team. Football Outsiders assembles their annual All-Keep Chopping Wood Team, in honor of this guy, for the worst player at his position.

Only one player from the Green Bay Packers made the list for 2011: S Charlie Peprah. I can't argue with his selection, but it was quite an accomplishment. There were a lot of bad safeties starting in the NFL last season.

The only other NFC North team represented was the Vikings, who led the division with two players. Former Packers K Ryan Longwell, and CB Cedric Griffin.

well, that makes sense because he's a backup

he only started because Morgan Burnett got hurt last year and Nick Collins got hurt this year. I hope he wouldn’t stack up better than starting NFL safeties, as he isn’t one

I don't know about you, but I expect any safety on the roster to be able to tackle and use correct angles.

Peprah was failing pretty badly out there.

I already told you! I deal with the god damn receivers so the linebackers don’t have to! I have coverage skills; I’m good at covering people! Can’t you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?!

good point. Although… TRAVIS FREAKIN BECKUM, you get scored on by him.. and you are probably an automatic qualifier.

They were Bigby-esque ints, though.

Deflections and what-not.

I know hindsight..

but does anyone think Ted should have been more active finding a replacement? Seems like everyone thought based off of last year there was no need, so they didnt bother looking..

Peprah's an adequate 3rd safety

There was no way safety was on the list of priorities. If Collins comes back healthy, it’s still not a need.
