The APC playoff bracket challenge
Okay, so nobody else is doing a pick 'em (or if they are, they're cutting it close), so I thought I'd do a different kind of one. The points for correct picks are the seed picked & double with each round.
Wild Card: seed value
Divisional: seed value x2
Championship: seed value x4
Super Bowl: seed value x8
For example, a correctly predicted 6 seed Cin Bengals or Det Lions Super Bowl victory is worth 48 points for the SB pick alone (6x8=48). For tiebreaking purposes, predict the SB score.
NFC:
1 GB Packers
2 SF 49ers
3 NO Saints
4 NY Giants
5 Atl Falcons
6 Det Lions
AFC:
1 NE Patriots
2 Bal Ravens
3 Hou Texans
4 Den Broncos
5 Pit Steelers
6 Cin Bengals
Wild Card Round:
Det@NO
Atl@NYG
Cin@Hou
Pit@Den
Divisional Round:
NO/NYG/Atl@SF
Det/NYG/Atl@GB
Hou/Den/Pit@Bal
Cin/Den/Pit@NE
Championship Round:
remaining highest numbered AFC seed@remaining lowest numbered AFC seed
remaining highest numbered NFC seed@remaining lowest numbered NFC seed
Perfect brackets point values depend on the outcome of games, my perfect bracket would be worth 74 points.

I'd say that's pretty much the "consensus bracket"
could be the winning bracket if everything goes as assumed. I think that the spread will favor your winners in all the matchups.

Yeah, it's basically conventional wisdom here
But we may see something strange, like… Tebow coming out and throwing for 400 yards against the Steelers and winning today.

however I was commenting on how not only did we pick the same teams (albeit not very risky picks) but our Super Bowl scores are only a field goal apart.

Well, it wasn't 400 yards
But the Steelers got Tebowed. I picked them though. So does that mean everybody that went against Denver is out?

depends on who makes it to/wins the AFCCG
There’s still a lot of points up for grabs. arodgb & myself are probably the only ones out of it, but I might even be able to win if Hou beats Den & NYG beats SF or NO in the two championship games (I think ObiBraunKenobi still beats me if that happens).

Let's try this:
Wild Card
NO over DET
NYG over ATL
PIT over DEN
CIN over HOU
Divisional
GB over NYG
NO over SF
NE over CIN
PIT over BAL
Championship
GB over NO
NE over PIT
Super Bowl
GB 34 – NE 30
The only game I have no confidence in is the BAL/PIT game. If BAL wins I think they beat NE, but if PIT wins they lose to NE. For this bracket I’m gonna go out on a limb and say BAL can’t beat PIT three times this year.

Well, the picks here are purely for fun
So why would any Packers fan not pick them to win it? I mean, you’d hate to be right about it if they lost, and the Pack did have the best record in the regular season, so it’s not like predicting some sort of wild run of upsets or anything.
With all four Wild Card teams eliminated from the playoffs
the train of upsets begins to dwindle somewhat.
