The Packers are not in crisis mode yet, but their 2-3 record accurately reflects how they've played so far.
When you're coming off of a 15-1 season, which came the year after a Super Bowl title, your team is going to get the benefit of the doubt for a long time. The Green Bay Packers are 2-3, and they've played like a below-.500 team to start the season. The officiating wasn't great in the Colts game on Sunday and everyone knows what happened in Seattle, but the Packers' 2-3 record is an accurate reflection of how they've played over their first five games.
Still, in SB Nation's latest NFL power rankings, there are five teams with .500 or winning records who are ranked below the Packers. SB Nation's NFL editor and Arrowhead Pride manager Joel Thorman ranked them 12th this week, and he offers his explanation.
This is one of those rankings where people are going to say they're ranked way too high and they're probably right. This does seem high but I can't shake off what I think I know about this team. Sunday's game at our No. 1 ranked team, Houston, is a big opportunity to right the ship.
This edition of the Packers is just weird. I wouldn't be surprised to see the old Aaron Rodgers show up and carve up Houston on Sunday night, nor would I be surprised to see Houston win by three touchdowns.
