Trade Deadline, and Steven Jackson

I, as a fan of the Green Bay Packers, enjoy perusing blog websites in search of opinions and analysis of the Packers various dealings. Reading through, I noticed that no one had mentioned how our season could be made by a trade for Steven Jackson. S-Jax provides an incredibly potent offensive weapon that would do wonders for our struggling running game. I wanted to know what the others in the fan-base thought of this idea. And now I present my ideas for some possible trades that could benefit both teams.

Trade 1:

Green Bay gets RB Steven Jackson
--------
St. Louis gets some GB Draft Picks. (I'm not sure what it would take to get S-Jax, because we could potentially have the last pick of each round. My idea would be RD 2 & 3, or 2, 6, & 7)

My Personal Take: As long as I've been involved in enjoying the Green Bay Packers, the best thing about them that comes to mind is the ability to find excellent players in the draft that Ted Thompson displays. In this case, I think the picks would be worth it, because we get an All-Pro caliber RB and veteran maturity that we usually can't get with a low pick.

Trade 2:
Green Bay gets RB Steven Jackson
--------
St. Louis gets WR Greg Jennings

My Personal Take: I believe in this scenario, GB could also end up with a Round 7 pick. As much as I love Greg Jennings and wish for him to be a Green Bay lifer, with the contract situation we have coming this off-season, trading Jennings would probably be for the best. We clear up space for Clay Matthews and B.J. Raji, and still have incredible depth at the WR position. Not only that, but STL also gains a lot with a clear #1 receiver that they sorely lack. I would prefer this trade to the first one, but I'd like some other opinions and possible trade options. Should we even pursue Jackson? All comments are welcome.
