McCarthy Speaks: Benson Out for Sunday, Raji and Finley "Have a Chance"

Stay connected for news and updates

From Mike McCarthy's press conference this afternoon, he discussed the status of the Packers' injured key players and whether they'll plan on Sunday against the Houston Texans:

Obviously, that's not the kind of news that we were hoping to hear. The offense has clicked best when Benson is providing a viable running threat, and his absence against a tough Houston defense will make things even tougher for Aaron Rodgers and the passing game.

Hopefully B.J. Raji can come back to anchor the middle of the Packers' defense, as the Texans love to run the ball with Arian Foster and Ben Tate. If not, Ryan Pickett would likely shift over to nose tackle, and you'd see a heavier dose of Jerel Worthy, Mike Neal, and company at defensive end.
