Cheese Curds: Green Bay Packers news and links for December 31, 2012

USA TODAY Sports

Well, last night stunk, but we're in the playoffs. Daily Green Bay Packers news and links, today on rematches, slow starts, good headlines and Mason Crosby.

Happy Monday, ladies and gentlemen. Of course, no one's too pleased about the result of yesterday's game, but I'm not too mad about it. We get a rematch at home against an iffy quarterback, playing for a team that only beat us by three points at home when they were in desperation mode and we were already in the playoffs. Seriously, be confident about this.

Today's stories are game stories, surprise! I'm sure the blogging and journalism world will get more into analysis of individual performances, as well as injury news tomorrow. Here's your daily dose of Green Bay Packers news and links.

Another reason to be optimistic: We're not going to start like that again.

Vikings win, so we'll do it again | Green Bay Press-Gazette

Random note: These Week 17-Wild Card rematches actually happen all the time, but usually it's after one or both teams sits most of their starters. A rematch after a game as competitive as Sunday's is super rare.

I've had my gripes with JSOnline headline writers all year, but they win this round.
