While Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was discussed as a possible top pick in the 2005 draft, Tannehill hasn't. He has been climbing up draft boards and he's currently the 12th best prospect at CBS Sports.com. He's been projected to go to the Browns with the No. 22 overall pick. Maybe he'd have been this highly regarded earlier if he hadn't been recovering from foot surgery.

Whatever the case, the Dolphins are sure in a good position. They need a new quarterback, and they'll have the best information possible on the best free agent quarterbacks (Matt Flynn through Joe Philbin) and the best quarterback that will be available with the No. 9 overall pick (Tannehill through Mike Sherman). Though the idea that Sherman might be a good college talent evaluator would probably give some readers a case of face palm.
