The APC Defensive 2011 MVP
The poll for the Green Bay Packers offensive 2011 MVP excluded the obvious choice of Aaron Rodgers, but I was surprised that Jordy Nelson has apparently dominated the runner-up spot. Nelson was my choice but I thought it would be a toss-up between him and Greg Jennings. Instead, it was Nelson by a landslide.
I'm expecting the poll for the APC defensive 2011 MVP will be won by a large margin too, but I've included a few names anyway. Even B.J. Raji, though he slumped last season yet somehow earned a trip to the Pro Bowl. I thought about including a couple players they really missed last season, Nick Collins and Cullen Jenkins, but decided against it. This is about the guys on the roster.

Clay, by a long shot.
Woodson, for as great as he is, does not deserve to be on top here. Clay had a spectacular season that is often overlooked because he was our only viable pass rusher outside of blitzing corners or the rare MLB blitz pressure that worked so well in 2010. CMIII was batting balls down at the line with more frequency, made a couple of remarkable interceptions, played well against the run, and provided most of our pressure on D. Our secondary looked much worse than it actually was due to this lack of overall pressure, and Chuck had a good year, but not many players in the league played as well as CMIII did.
TL,DR
I already told you! I deal with the god damn receivers so the linebackers don’t have to! I have coverage skills; I’m good at covering people! Can’t you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?!
Voted Matthews too...
But saying he was spectacular, remarkable and that not many players in the League played better, all in one comment is going way overboard! He stepped up his game vs the run and in coverage, so he wasn’t a liability and is now better than average in those areas. His pass rush was still very good even tho he didnt get the sacks.

Woulda voted Bishop,
but, Matthews made all those tackles possible.

I had the SAME reaction. I literally rewound the TV to watch it again, I was in such shock. What a dumb move that was.

I talked to a bro on facebook like right after...
and we were both wtfing and laughing about it, honestly that finger was the funniest thing I saw in any game all year, if only for the “are you serious?” factor.

Aware of this...
Nike has not only made new gloves that form the"G" when hands are held together as we saw Jennings do in the Pro Bowl.
BUT…
They’ve also unveiled their new commemorative AJ Hawk 3rd glove sporting the “G” logo on the back of the middle finger to be worn in next year’s games against Detroit and Minnesota.
BRILLIANT!
Did he even get a penalty?
I don’t remember for sure, but don’t think so. And he was doing it to his own sideline so it clearly wasn’t at fans or St L.

No onfield penalty
Got a 10,000 dollar fine from the league though.
Long as it didn't hurt the team.
I don’t care… Certainly wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but not going to hold it against him. Got lucky in that it didn’t hurt the team. Sure he won’t be having any repeats of it, thats for sure.

my vote goes to Nick Collins

Just like how he excluded Rodgers in the offensive MVP
he had to get rid of the future HOF from this poll, too.

I've been gone for a while, but the So'uperman saga is still alive and well.
Glad to see that.

Clay by 10 country miles.
I’m shocked he doesn’t have 70% of the votes. Without Clay the defense has zero pass rush. He didn’t have the sack numbers but in spite of the fact that he had almost no help and was getting double and triple teamed he still led the league in qb pressures.
All is vanity.
Its hard for anyone to run away with anything with how poorly our defense performed this year. Statistically it would be a Woodson. Overall play would be Clay or maybe Bishop. No one was really a huge shining star though this year.
