Bruce Irvin, 2012 NFL Draft Prospect And APC Favorite, Gets Arrested

I NEED SANDWICHES.

I'm pretty high on Bruce Irvin, an extremely athletic outside linebacker from West Virginia. He's 6'3", 245 pounds, and he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds at the NFL Combine. In his last two season at WVU, he's recorded 22.5 sacks and 29 tackles for a loss. I've been high on him as a potential draft target for the Green Bay Packers. After Saturday, there's a pretty good chance that Irvin is going to be off Ted Thompson's radar.

On Saturday, Irvin was arrested. What for? For destruction of property at a sandwich shop.

The 24 year-old Irvin was arrested late Saturday night after he allegedly broke a sign at the Jimmy Johns Sandwich Shop on High Street.

Irvin has also been charged with destruction of property and disorderly conduct.

If Irvin has some sort of reasonable explanation for this, even if that explanation is "I got blackout drunk at a bar and I had no idea what I was doing", he's still going to get drafted next month. He's too talented to have this destroy his chances of playing in the NFL. His chances of going in the first round, though? He probably just messed those up.
