2012 NFL Schedule: Giants Face Cowboys In Season Opener

Stay connected for news and updates

No Pack in the opener. Watch the Cowboys and Giants beat each other up instead.

There was a lot of speculation leading into the NFL owners' meetings that the Green Bay Packers would play the New York Giants in the league's first game of the season. Instead, the league has opted to open the season with a major division rivalry. The Giants will raise a Super Bowl Champions banner in the faces of the team they beat in Week 17 to win the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys.

Too bad, so sad for us. I guess we'll have to play on Sunday like everyone else. Personally, I am very much looking forward to the gross overreaction of the NFL media to whatever happens in the season opener. Unless the game is an all-time classic with no turnovers and no bad quarterback play in the final minutes, the loser of this game will be written off as a failure and the winner will be hailed as the favorite for a division title and a first round bye.

For those who dislike media circuses and attention, it's your lucky day!
