2012 Packers Mock Draft: I Hate Mel Kiper's Picks

LOS ANGELES CA - OCTOBER 16: Nick Perry #8 of the USC Trojans celebrates his sack with Armond Armstead #94 and Shane Horton #23 against the California Golden Bears during the first quarter at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on October 16 2010 in Los Angeles California. Double dose of mock-draft action - NFC North Blog - ESPN. Man, Mel Kiper is killing me.

In an earlier mock draft, he selected Notre Dame S Harrison Smith for the Green Bay Packers, and I'm immediately underwhelmed. In his most recent one, he picks USC's DE Nick Perry on the same day that I start to sour on him.

I prefer Todd McShay's selection of Clemson's Andre Branch because he's a college DE who might be pretty good at dropping into pass coverage, and he had 10.5 sacks in his senior season. But he might be a reach for the first round.

They need a pass rusher, and I'd still prefer a defensive lineman. I'm not sure that's possible. Will there be a good pass rushing defensive lineman available at the end of the first round? Maybe they'll have to go with a outside LB candidate first and address the defensive line later.
