Closing Out Your Work Week With Some Thoughts On Jerry Kramer

Today at Jersey Al's, the gang had a couple of posts on Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame member Jerry Kramer. For those who are unaware, Kramer was one of the best offensive lineman to ever play for the Packers. He played in 130 games for the team between 1958-1968, he made the key block that set up Bart Starr's Ice Bowl touchdown, and he was named to the NFL's 50th Anniversary team in 1969.

He is the only member of that team not enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. He has been nominated for the Hall of Fame 10 times and has not been inducted; he is the only player to be a finalist that many times without being inducted. NFL Films president Steve Sabol has claimed he is the best player not in the Hall of Fame.

Kramer's daughter runs a website, facebook page and twitter account dedicated to getting the word out about how great of a football player her father was and getting him enshrined in Canton, where just about every last Packers fan would agree that he belongs.

I want to thank Al and Kris Burke over at AllGreenBayPackers.com for talking about this today, and I encourage all of you to visit Alicia Kramer's website to find out what you can do to help get Jerry Kramer into the Hall of Fame.
