It's Monday, and that means that Ryan Van Bibber has his latest 2012 NFL mock draft up at the mothership. He's mostly had 4-3 tackles/3-4 ends projected to the Green Bay Packers when he's done mocks in the past, but he's now projecting a bit of a fall for a 3-4 OLB who was previously labeled as a blue-chip prospect.
Ladies and gentlemen, Courtney Upshaw.
It's a big fall for Upshaw, who once was considered the best pass rusher in the draft. He lacks the fluid motions of a natural athlete, but he seems to find a way to make it work.
Upshaw's lack of height, straight-line speed and stiff movements have some concerned that he's not going to make it as an outside linebacker in the pros. He's certainly going to be a bit awkward in coverage. But man, Upshaw was a monster in college, he's extremely smart, he produced against top competition and he's an intelligent football player.
Anyone opposed to Ryan's selection for the Packers at No. 28?
Oh, and Roll Tide.
