The Green Bay Packers do not pick in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft until the 28th overall selection. The draft starts at 8 p.m. ET and there are 10 minutes between draft picks, meaning you're going to have to sit through a long broadcast to see the Packers pick, and stay up late if you're on the east coast.
The Packers need a front seven player who can make an impact next season. Their pass rush was poor and their run defense wasn't great either. New blood and more talent is needed all over the front seven. The good news for the Packers is that there are a LOT of very talented guys who can play 3-4 DE or OLB that will be available at No. 28. This is exactly why you will feel as you wasted your time when the Packers' pick comes up.
I'm predicting that Ted Thompson trades down. There's simply too much value at positions of need from No. 28 down into the mid-2nd round for the Packers to make their regular selection. This will change if a guy that the Packers have a top-15 grade on slips, but I would be surprised to see that happen.
