Update: Bell signs with Eagles

Yesterday, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported that Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Demetrius Bell was expected to visit with the Green Bay Packers. That news was passed around by outlets like Pro Football Talk. Because of the national reach of PFT, the news got to him when they posted on the report by Rob Demovsky. Bell was apparently baffled by this news.

Okay, so I guess Bell isn't visiting with the Packers! Demovsky is about as reliable as NFL beat writers come, so he probably got some bad information that he had no reason not to trust at the time. Bell has already visited with the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers, and he hasn't signed with anyone yet. He's a talented player who has had some issues with injuries, but he did start all 16 of the Bills' games in 2010. He made six starts and played in seven total games in 2011.
