Demetress Bell was reportedly scheduled to visit with the Green Bay Packers, then took to twitter to deny that report. Now, we know why. Bell was a player that the Packers were likely going to offer a one-year deal if he impressed on a visit. Instead, he's signing with the Philadelphia Eagles on a five-year deal.

By the way, I didn't misprint his name. Apparently, his name has been misprinted by everyone for years. When the Eagles announced Bell's signing, they said that the proper spelling of his name is actually "Demetress", not "Demetrius".

The Eagles were in desperate need of an offensive tackle because of the injury to their current left tackle, Jason Peters. After suffering an Achilles injury that requires surgery, Peters is likely to be out for the rest of the season. The Eagles see themselves as a contender for a division title, so they went out and got the best tackle available on the free agent market and offered him better terms than he was going to get from anyone else. I'm going to assume the contract is backloaded as all holy heck, because lol Eagles.
