The one lingering unsigned player from the 2012 Draft has signed on with the Green Bay Packers. The team announced on Friday afternoon that OLB/DE Nick Perry has signed, meaning that all eight Packers draft picks are signed to contracts.
Perry arrived at the team's rookie orientation without a contract and said that he was not concerned about getting a deal done, for now very obvious reasons. Perry joined the rest of the rookies for a meal with coaches on Thursday and he met with reporters on Friday before going to the Packers' practice facility for some on-field work.
It will be interesting to see exactly how Perry progresses as a stand-up linebacker over OTAs and minicamp. He'll be expected to compete for -- if not win outright -- the starting right outside linebacker job from the beginning of preseason. We'll have more on Perry and his transition to standing up before the end of the day.
