If, after the draft, there was a player the Packers scouts had an eye on who didn't get selected, you better believe they were on the phones with cash in hand. These are the undrafted players who the Packers gave a signing bonus to :
C #60 Tommie Draheim (San Diego St): $8,500
S/ILB #28 Sean Richardson (Vanderbilt): $5,000
RB #23 Duane Bennett (Minnesota): $4,000
OLB #54 Dezman Moses (Tulane): $3,500
T #64 Mike McCabe (Holy Cross): $2,500
TE #45 Eric Lair (Minnesota): $2,500
FB #40 Nic Cooper (Winston-Salem St): $1,500
CB #41 Dion Turner (Southern Utah): $1,000
The first thing that jumped out at me was that there are two players from the Golden Gophers, Lair & Bennett. They're from Houston & St Louis respectively, so it's unlikely they were Vikings fans. Spielman, the Vikings GM was in attendance for the Gophers Pro Day, but it's unknown if he had interest in either player.
Draheim & Bennett are coming off of injuries; McCabe, Cooper & Turner are from small schools looking to make the leap, and Moses looks to make people forget about Vic So'oto.
