I believe it's appropriate, with the Hall of Fame Ceremony about to kick off, to list off all the Green Bay Packers that should be in the Hall of Fame. As we all know, the Packers illustrate the NFL, and it's beloved history, the best. They have were there at the beginning and surprisingly have never left Green Bay. From Lambeau bringing his passion from Norte Dame to Lombardi breathing life back into a dying franchise to Reggie White teaming up with Favre (and team) to Aaron Rodgers expanding the Glory of the Green Bay Packers. Without further ado, here is my list of deserving players
1. Jerry Kramer
The only member of the 50th-anniversary team not residing at Canton. Kramer played 11 seasons, making 5 All-Pro teams. He played during the Lombardi era and was perhaps the most athletic player on the offensive line for that era. Jim Ringo and Forrest Gregg already represent that line in Canton and is probably the only reason why he isn't already in. The fabled packers-sweep was only possible because of the ability Kramer had to pull to the outside. Kramer also was a reliable placekicker!
2. Dave Robinson
Dave Robinson played outside linebacker for Lombardi and represented athleticism to a position usually filled with dump trucks. Robinson had freakish hands for the position that was unheard of during his time and his 27 career interceptions show this. Of course Tackles and Sacks were not a recorded stat back then but it has been said he racked up over 100 during his career.
3. Sterling Sharpe
Sharpe had a career ending injury when he was 29 during his 7th season as a Green Bay Packer. He led the league twice in TDs and another season in yards receiving. Who knows what he could have accomplished if he had played 4-5 more years with Brett Favre and Mike Holmgren.
5. LeRoy Butler
Butler played sideline to sideline and was a constant threat to turn the tide of any game. He was a hard hitting safety who had soft hands and alien instincts. He was rarely out of place and his play earned him 4 All-Pro selections and got him a spot on the 1990s decade team.
I hoped you liked my list. Who else do you think will earn a bust in the Hall of Fame?
