To Everyone Talking about "Boycotts" and the Like....

Listen......We all know a literal "boycott" is not going to work. We're addicted to this crap. Pretty much all of us are going to still be watching the Packers (or your favorite team, if you are from another site), and the vast majority of us are still probably going to cave and watch the other games, even if we're saying we won't right now.

However, there is a way we can all watch the games while still hitting the NFL where it counts (the wallet). That is......WATCH IT STREAMING ON YOUR COMPUTER. If you have any form of digital cable, satellite, TiVO, any other DVR, etc. etc......those things track and report what we watch. The NFL, the Networks, and the advertisers all get that info and they set the prices for commercials during the games.

When you watch it streaming online, however, you're out of this loop. And since most of the streams I have seen come from the British broadcasts of the NFL, you're not even seeing the American commercials. With fewer pairs of eyes watching their commercials, the advertisers will not be wanting to pay as much for air-time, and maybe, just maybe, the NFL will start to feel it in their wallets. (You also get the added bonus of watching a bunch of British guys, and American football busts whose names you may or may not remember, discussing football during breaks and halftime. No more Terry Bradshaw and Jimmy Johnson. No more Trent Dilfer and Cris Carter).

For those Luddites who have no idea how to find streaming sites, the rules of SBNation dictate that I cannot link you to them. And I will follow those rules. However, a little common sense and a quick Google search should result in you finding the most popular sites out there.

I'm not going to go around posting this on all the other sites, because frankly, I don't like it when other people come here to do the same thing. But if you want to share this idea with anyone else who will listen, that's up to you guys.

Oh, and one last thing. F**k Roger Goodell. That is all.
