Around week 7 of last season, we decided to start a weekly pick 'em contest; the turnout was pretty good (20-25 people) and it was pretty fun, so I figured we should do it again this year. Our defending champ is Tarynfor12... congrats again, but we're coming at you bro :P Newer members, don't be afraid to jump right on in (I don't bite, although PPF might... so, enter at your own risk)!

Rules: Just enter your picks in the subject line (i.e. Packers, Texans, Raiders, Bills, etc.) for each game played in a particular week. You can feel free to discuss why you made those picks in the comment box, if you like. All picks are due 1 hour before the first game of the week***. Each correct pick nets you one point, and whoever accumulates the most points by the end of week 17 will be the winner! My picks are after the jump.

***NOTE:

Since this was just posted the day before the season opener, I have decided not to include the Cowboys-Giants game. Therefore, the deadline for your week 1 picks will be SUN, SEPT 9, 12:00 PM ET.

mike_o's Week 1 picks:

Colts at Bears: Bears - Rookie QB + Bears D + Soldier Field = no bueno.

Eagles at Browns: Eagles - DREAM TEAM.

Patriots at Titans: Patriots - Because Gronk Smash, that's why.

Falcons at Chiefs: Falcons - *shrug*.

Jaguars at Vikings: Jaguars - *shrug* 2.0.

Redskins at Saints: Saints - Lots of drama for NO this offseason, but I'm still picking them to open with a win.

Bills at Jets: Bills - Nice team when healthy, and they added Mario Williams.

Rams at Lions: Lions - Too much offense for STL to handle.

Dolphins at Texans: Texans - Houston is probably the best team, top-to-bottom, in the AFC. They'll open with a win.

49ers at Packers: Packers - AR12 will put us over the top in a tough week 1 matchup.

Seahawks at Cardinals: Seahawks - Poor Larry Fitzgerald... (okay, the Cards have a nice D, but I'm still taking Seattle here).

Panthers at Buccaneers: Panthers - Nice offseason additions for TB (Nicks, V-Jax), but I think Newton goes off on their D in week 1.

Steelers at Broncos: Broncos - I'm still iffy on Peyton, but I'll give the Broncos the edge at home.

Bengals at Ravens: Ravens - Cincy is improved, but BAL is still a force in the AFC.

Chargers at Raiders: Raiders - Too much #osc4seabass for SD to handle :D
