The Atlanta Falcons defeated the Seattle Seahawks in an all-time classic playoff game to advance to the NFC Championship game.
The Atlanta Falcons have finally shed the label of 'playoff chokers' with a stunning comeback win over the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs, clinching a trip to San Francisco next week. Russell Wilson engineered a late touchdown drive to put the Seahawks ahead with 31 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Falcons moved down the field in a flash to set up a game-winning field goal in their 30-28 victory.
A bad kickoff gave the Seahawks a shot at a hail mary in the final seconds, but Julio Jones came up with an interception in the end zone to clinch the win for his team. A number of players on the Falcons won their first career playoff game on Saturday, including future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez.
The San Francisco 49ers will host the Falcons at 3 p.m. ET, 12 p.m. local time at Candlestick Park on Sunday, January 20. The game will be broadcast on FOX, with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling the action.
