Could this be the year the Packers finally lose at home to Lions?

Not since 1991 have they beat the Packers at Lambeau. 21 tries, 21 losses.

The Detroit Lions have struggled mightily with their identity over the years, but in 2013, the team is on a bit of a roll.

They have come into previous tries at Lambeau with no confidence. Like 2008, when they lost all 16 games.

But, their luck could change as soon as this Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers (1-2), coming off a bye yet still riddled with injuries and inefficiencies, face a Lions (3-1) team that has finally gained some momentum.

While the Packers tried to recuperate from an outbreak of injuries, the Lions handed the Chicago Bears their first loss.

The Lions have a hot running back, a game-changing receiver, and a quarterback with a fresh contract.

With RB Reggie Bush, the Lions can finally take pressure off QB Matthew Stafford. They showed that in their win over Chicago Sunday.

WR Calvin Johnson is always a threat and nearly impossible to cover.

How do the Packers with so many injuries and such a patchwork defense respond?

It looks like safety Morgan Burnett will finally return for the first time this season. The Packers secondary has struggled all season and Burnett is a definite upgrade.

Burnett, albeit a talented player, is no savior to this pass defense, currently ranked 28th in yards given up through the air.

Another talented player, CB Casey Hayward, remains sidelined.

The Packers, nonetheless, are moving forward with what they have. The defense has shown some improvement over the weeks.

If the Packers are to win Sunday, they will need to stop a well-balanced Lions offense that averages 309 yards passing and 95.8 rushing per game.

The Packers, a 3-4 defense, has remained in a lot of nickel and dime sets this season. With Bush, the Lions could gash the Packers on the ground.

Like the well-balanced offense the Lions bring every game, the Packers must bring a well-balanced defense. Bring too many guys up to the line, Stafford throws a deep one to Johnson. Sit back in prevent, Bush runs for 100+ yards.

It's the Packers game to lose.
