First prayers to him and his family, thank God intial reports are positive, and we did see him moving his hands. After hearing andrew quaralas speak, its pretty clear to me that, at least initally finley couldnt move his body. You see on the replay that he was moving his neck, probably a bad idea, but i think the same thing andrew said is true, he was just trying to see what he could move.
I know its really early but, if he did break a vertabra, that would end his career. Now if thats the worst thing to come from that, I'd say he lucked out. Really though its a damn shame, he had really grown up as a player this year, finally, finally putting his tools and talent together. I really hope most of the speculation is wrong but seeing as he is still in the hospital, I'd expect to hear an anouncement of surgury. from there i dont know but if it requires any kind of fusion like nick collins required that would be the end of his career.
Anyways if you do this sort of thing think we should shoot out some prayers for a speedy recovery and hopefully even a little luck. this is one of those moments that really puts perspective on things.
