Packers Injury Update: James Jones Limited in Thursday's Practice

Jeff Hanisch-US PRESSWIRE

The Packers' two Joneses are working again in practice, with one limited and the other a full participant on Thursday.

With the team playing a Monday night game this week against the Chicago Bears, the Green Bay Packers announced their first injury report of the week Thursday afternoon, a day later than usual. There's some good news today, though, as the report is only six names long and two of those names are making progress.

James Jones, whose knee injury has lingered over the past few weeks, was limited in practice on Thursday, but that is a step up from where he was last week, when he did not practice at all. Head coach Mike McCarthy said that Jones was only participating in rehab work, however, and apparently did not go through drills with the team. That clouds his status yet again for Monday's game.

Brad Jones, on the other hand, appears on track to play on Monday, as he was a full participant.

Nick Perry was not so lucky, though. McCarthy said that he is "just not ready" and has not made the progress in his rehab that the team had hoped for. Yet again, it sounds like he will be a long shot to play against the Bears.

As for the players on the PUP list -- Jerel Worthy, Sean Richardson, Derek Sherrod, and JC Tretter -- McCarthy said that the team has not come to a decision on their status. That certainly does not sound promising for three of those four, and while there was no mention of whether Sherrod practiced, the lack of specific information makes it seem likely that he continued to work.

Here's the team's injury report from Thursday.

Player Position Injury Thursday Status
Brad Jones ILB Hamstring Full participation
James Jones WR Knee Limited participation
Ryan Taylor TE Knee Limited participation
Nick Perry OLB Foot Did not participate
Jermichael Finley TE Neck OUT
Clay Matthews OLB Thumb OUT
