Packers Injury Report, Week 12: Twelve Players Listed on Wednesday Practice Report

USA TODAY Sports

While lots of active players were on today's injury report, the bigger news may be about two players on reserve lists who are making progress with their injuries.

The Green Bay Packers once again released an injury report on a Wednesday that feels like it's a mile long and littered with key players. In fact, the twelve players listed on today's report make it the longest one of the season, at least as far as the active roster is concerned, although one player mentioned was a full participant.

In any case, here is the list from today's practice.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
OL Don Barclay, CB Casey Hayward, DT Johnny Jolly, CB James Nixon, OLB Nick Perry, CB Sam Shields, QB Aaron Rodgers

LIMITED PARTICIPATION
C Evan Dietrich-Smith, OLB Andy Mulumba, OLB Mike Neal, DT Ryan Pickett

FULL PARTICIPATION
OLB Clay Matthews

In his press conference, Mike McCarthy also discussed a few other injured players who are not on the active roster. Randall Cobb, who is on Injured Reserve/Designated for Return, is no longer using a Segway to move around, and McCarthy noted that he has seen Cobb in the weight room recently as Cobb is "getting healthy." Hopefully that means Cobb will be able to return to the active roster when he is eligible for the Week 15 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

McCarthy also said that JC Tretter, who is on the Physically Unable to Perform list with a broken ankle, returned to practice on Wednesday, did drills on his own, and is on track to practice in pads on Thursday. It's no lock that Tretter would go on the active roster before the end of the season, but if he could return that would certainly help the depth on the offensive line.

Finally, McCarthy refused to shed any more light on Aaron Rodgers' collarbone injury, instead letting Rodgers' comments on his radio show speak for themselves. In case you missed that, Rodgers essentially said that his return now is a trade-off between the risk of seriously re-injuring his collarbone and the benefit to the team of his return.

For now, it doesn't look like the Packers are getting much healthier quite yet, as the key players who missed Sunday's game failed to suit up for practice on Wednesday. Hopefully the rest of the week will provide us with better news.
