I am confident that the Packers can still win the division! I am confident that if we get healthy, the defense steps up and plays like it is capable of, and Aaron Rodgers shines like the super-star he is, the Pack can control their own destiny... (Just Like 2010! : )
However, I do love to talk the draft and instead of worrying my A$$ off whether our defense will show up, or about other things that are beyond my control, I thought I would take a look at draft prospects. The 2014 Draft will "NOT" be in April this year, it will be May 8th - 10th!
As far as I know we have all 7 of our draft picks, plus whatever comp picks we may get. First we have to address our apparent needs, which may not be the same come May, but we have to start somewhere. Alas, I forgot Ted Thompson doesn't draft for need, Ted Thompson will draft the best player available, no matter our needs! : ) I'm hoping needs meet value in a way never before seen in Green Bay...
This is my first look and I may be a little bias right now due to our current situation, but let's see where this goes...
1st Round ~ 32nd ~ WR Jordan Matthews, Vanderbilt ~ 6'3" 205lbs GOAT's Cousin.
2nd Round ~ 64th ~ OT Seantrel Henderson, MIAMI, FL 6'7" 345lbs.
3rd Round ~ 96th ~ CB Marcus Roberson, Florida, 6'0" 195lbs.
4th Round ~ 128th ~ SS Ahmad Dixon, Baylor 6'0" 205lbs
5th Round ~ 160th ~ ILB Max Bullough, 6'3" 245lbs.
6th Round ~ 192nd ~ C Gabe Ikard, 6'3" 298lbs.
7th Round ~ 224th ~ K Cairo Santos, Tulane 5'8" 160lbs.
While I was hoping maybe RaShede Hageman, DT Minnesota 6'6" 311lbs might be available, in the 1st round, I figured he'd be gone.
It always surprises me how you think drafting great players would be a piece of cake, well, it isn't... Lol I'm sure this is just the 1st of many mock drafts, I'm just hoping TT finds a way to strike gold this year, because Aaron Rodgers isn't getting any younger!
Go Pack Go!!!
