by now we all know Rodgers will miss 4-6 weeks. Good news? well there isnt much, but Rodgers will at some point cone back. whether the games still matter by the time he does hinge greatly on Eddie Lacy, the offensive line (especially blocking against 8 man fronts), and Dom Capers.
Eddie Lacy, basicly at this point justs needs to continue to play, like eddie lacy. Aside from a few passes here and there by seneca wallace, he is going to be our focal point. The packers will need to have him preform at a very high level in Rodgers absence. Particularly on thanksgiving in detroit. That game has become a must win. for us to win that game Lacy is going to have to go off.
The offensive line of course goes hand in hand with Lacy's success. They are going to have to control the line even when the defenders are keying towards run. they will have to play very well for the packers to come out of this mess in good shape.
The reason i say Dom Capers, instead of listing the return of both Mathews and Perry, (which certainly will help) is that, for 3 years now Ive watched Capers play calling fall in love with zone coverage. Yet i see when we allow our CBs to be aggressive and play bump and run, they are much more effective. So many passes today are built of timing, so disrupting the WR can be just as effective as disrupting the QB. Look im not saying zone coverage doesnt work. What i am saying though, is that our secondary gets lost in thier coverages. Capers has to be much more aggressive during this stretch, although two returning starters make that easier.
We all know that seneca has to at least not lose us the game.the way we are running the ball he should get a good 4-5 great PA attempts to jordy a game.
