The New York Jets' cuts are coming fast today, as shortly after announcing that they released four players, reports surfaced that another Jet is on his way out of the Big Apple. This tweet came down the wire shortly after it was reported that the Jets would be holding a meeting with linebacker Bart Scott to try to restructure his contract:
So, there won't be a Thursday meeting between Bart Scott's agent and the Jets regarding the veteran linebacker. He's being released instead— Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) February 19, 2013
Cutting Scott saves the Jets about $7 million in cap space this year and another $8 million in 2014. Something tells me the former Jet and Raven can't wait to sign a new deal in free agency.
