A transition has been taking place over the past several weeks here at Acme Packing Company, and it's likely that you can guess what's coming. Kevin McCauley, the manager of the site in the recent past, is a full-time employee of SB Nation and spends substantial time working on other projects for SB Nation outside of APC. These other responsibilities have left the time he can spend on APC dwindling, so I was asked to take over as blog manager and I gladly accepted.
There probably won't be a whole lot that you'll see change here, at least in terms of the look and feel of the site. I may decide to tweak a few things, but the biggest change you'll likely observe is an expansion of the quantity and variety of voices writing for the blog. I'm a believer that having more opinions is a good thing, and it will certainly help split up the workload as well. Along those lines, I will be looking for new contributors early and often, and if you think you would be a good addition to the team I encourage you to email me.
If you're wondering, Kevin will still be a valued contributor to APC, helping out with Cheese Curds in the mornings and doing some analysis of major events like the draft as his time permits.
As for moderating the community: I have also made some minor tweaks to the community guidelines - nothing major, just some small adjustments - so I suggest taking this opportunity to refresh your memory on those guidelines. The one big change is point number 3. In general, I'm not likely to throw the banhammer around like I'm Thor unless I am left with no other choice. My main request is that everyone remains respectful to one another at all times.
If you're wondering a little bit about who I am, I can tell you that I am not from Texas, nor have I ever lived in Texas. I grew up in Wisconsin like many of you, attended the University of Wisconsin (if you hadn't guessed from my profile photo), and currently live in central Ohio. I do own stock in the Green Bay Packers. I spend most Sundays at my local Packers bar and my free weeknights curling or playing volleyball or softball. I have a day job outside of APC and because of that I may not always be able to respond to issues or concerns immediately. However, if you have any feedback, suggestions, or complaints or if you just want to get in touch with me for any reason, feel free to do so at acmepackingco [at] gmail [dot] com and I promise that I will get back to you as soon as is humanly possible. (Note: email address was incorrect earlier and has been fixed.)
On a personal note, I would like to thank Kevin for encouraging me to take the reins here, as well as Brandon Benson who gave me my initial writing opportunity on this blog about three years ago. I look forward to helping this site become or continue to be your first choice for news, analysis, and discussion about the Green Bay Packers.
