MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Last season as Adrian Peterson fell just short of breaking Eric Dickerson's single season rushing yards record, he vowed to come back next season and get 2,500. "I don't doubt him for a second", says teammate Kyle Rudolph, "For him to come back from that serious of an injury and do all of that is just a sign of the determination he has." "I know I wouldn't wanna play him, but I don't really play the run at all anyways, so whatevs.", said Jared Allen.
Outside of his blockers, the most important part to Peterson's success is the inept play of quarterback Christian Ponder. "Oh yeah, Christian definitely helped last year", said Peterson, "When I see him throw every ball over the head of the receivers, I know I'm the one that has to generate all of our offense." Ponder too realizes this and knows what he must do in order to help Peterson reach his goal. "You know, it's a team game and my part is to serve as a catalyst for Adrian's success.", said Ponder after practice while every reporter, but me was talking to other players. "Our gameplan this year is going to be an increase in carries to Peterson, while I won't be allowed to throw the ball more than seven yards at a time."
When asked about this gameplan, Head Coach Leslie Frazier has this to say, "We're not a Superbowl team. We know that. You know that. So, instead of trying for that, we're going to just help our franchise player reach a monumental accomplishment at the expense of another lesser players dignity."
