This thought occurred to me shortly after reading an article at Cheesehead TV about the Packers needing a "jackhammer" FB to complement our new running focus on offense: is Kuhn going to be replaced? I know him being cut has been mentioned due to his salary and less-than-stellar play in certain phases of the game, but I didn't really see another back that could pull his weight in pass protection and still provide the necessary beef as a lead blocker. But what I haven't seen mentioned anywhere that suddenly struck me as a possibility is the newly-signed Matthew Mulligan. I'm admittedly not familiar with him outside of a few brief articles announcing his arrival, but with his rankings (in the low-to-mid teens for both run and pass blocking) I think I could see them using him as an H-back often with his excellent run blocking giving him a legitimate chance at unseating Kuhn. With Lacy having the power to man goal-line and short-yardage sets, I'm not sure the folk hero has a spot with precious spots needed for a now-crowded backfield. Please chime in with your thoughts both on Mulligan and pros/cons of this switch. Thanks!
