Eight days ago, the Green Bay Packers opened their preseason schedule with a giant flop of a performance against the Arizona Cardinals. Tonight, they will attempt to right the ship with a better showing against the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome.
After playing a single series last week and coming up inches short of the goal line (allegedly), the Packers' first-team offense will look to put some points on the board this evening. Personally, I expect to see the starters for two series or so. Of course, young players like Eddie Lacy and David Bakhtiari will likely get their playing time extended in an effort to see what they can bring to the table.
Along with Lacy, the Packers should have the services of seventh-round draft pick Kevin Dorsey, a wideout who has been banged up through much of OTAs and training camp. First-round pick Datone Jones did not practice all week, and he is not expected to play.
As for some things to keep an eye on, check out our primer here; I know that I will be paying close attention to the safeties, the right tackles, and the backup quarterbacks.
