Happy Friday, everyone! The Packers don't take the field until 7:00 PM tonight as preparation for Saturday's Family Night scrimmage, so we'll have to wait until after that for updates from practice. Until then, here is a batch of links to keep you going and hold your interest in the Packers during your Friday work day.
Packers' Mike Daniels ready to talk and play - JSOnline
"I practiced against some of the greatest: Jeff Saturday, Josh Sitton. I've been around the best: B.J. Raji and some freak athletes like Mike Neal. There's nothing that shocks me now. All the wow factor is gone." That's a great quote - and I think Daniels is really going to be an underrated player for Green Bay this year. Also worth noting: he weighed in at 301 pounds, up 10 pounds of solid muscle from last year.
Datone Jones: 'I've got to earn my keep' - ESPN Wisconsin
You have to like that kind of humility and work ethic from a young player, but especially from one drafted highly. On a different note, Jones says he weighed in at 294 pounds. Anybody still worried he won't be big enough to play DE in a 3-4?
Why James Jones' bold yardage prediction for Packers isn't enough - TODAY'S TMJ4
A balanced offensive attack is the name of the game, everyone. Let's draw those safeties in and open up the deep passing game.
Chris Culliver injury: Ian Rapoport, Adam Schefter reporting it is a torn ACL - Niners Nation
Ouch. This makes the 49ers' signing of Nnamdi Asomugha look like a much bigger deal, but it definitely detracts from San Francisco's depth at corner - a factor which should play into the Packers' hands in week one.
Greg Jennings "apologizes" for critical Aaron Rodgers comments - ESPN
Quotation marks added by me because of this statement: "I don't really recall saying anything negative about Aaron or anyone over there, but hey, I apologize." I'm almost speechless here. Has he not heard himself speak lately?
Packers' Jordy Nelson Stars in Wisconsin Tourism Ad - WBAY
Watch the ad - it's a little cheesy (AHA, SEE WHAT I DID THERE?!) but it's fun.
Chiefs QB Alex Smith is 'the best in the league' - SBNation.com
Oh Doug Pederson, you have a soft spot in Packers' fans hearts, but you're just off your rocker if you actually believe that.
