Cheese Curds: Green Bay Packers News and Links for January 20, 2014

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

After a fun Sunday of football, it's time to get back to work analyzing the Packers' roster and free agency.

With the Green Bay Packers getting a head start on their off-season program ahead of several other playoff teams, we all got to sit back and watch Conference Championship Sunday and enjoy some highly entertaining football. Ultimately, the league's best two teams (by record) are in the Super Bowl for the first time in several years, and the matchup between the Broncos' top-ranked offense and the Seahawks top-ranked defense will likely dominate the coverage leading up to February 2nd.

In the meantime, we at Acme Packing Company have a different team to focus on, and you'll see that we're going to start with our offseason roster analysis today. Look for several posts each weekday in the next few weeks breaking down the performance, impending free agents and potential targets (through the draft and free agency alike), and the overall need to improve each position on the roster. Today we kick off that review with the quarterbacks.

Happy Monday, Packers fans.

This line of thinking will be more popular than ever before in Ted Thompson's tenure. If they do make a free agent signing on defense, I hope it's somewhere up the middle - nose tackle, inside linebacker, or safety.

In case you missed this over the weekend, this extremely disappointing news about one of my favorite Packers from the late 90's and early 2000's.

I agree with the top two on this list. The rest of the order is a bit tougher.

It's tough to tell if Woodson is able to laugh it off now that he has a Super Bowl ring or if he's still legitimately angry about the Tuck Rule call.
