Cheese Curds: Green Bay Packers News and Links for March 4, 2014

Jonathan Daniel

All the news from the past day in the NFL was about the franchise tags, so for today's curds we bring you things like "how to ruin a fantasy football draft".

In the NFLs news cycle, yesterday's headlines were dominated by talk about the Franchise Tag deadline. As you know by now, the Packers were among 26 NFL teams who did not tag any of their players, meaning Sam Shields is going to be a free agent barring some unexpected contract extension between now and next Tuesday.

If he leaves, the Packers suddenly will have a big hole in the secondary, and we have one article in today's curds that looks at what their alternate options might be. We also have much less important things today, like how many Monster HDMI cables you can buy and stay under the NFL's salary cap.

Enjoy!

Jones Realistic about Free-Agent Options - ESPN Wisconsin
The article talks about how realistic he is about the possibility of returning to Green Bay; it says nothing about what sort of deal it will take to sign him.
