Title is pretty straightforward - Niners need help at a lot of places and an ILB who can occasionally slide outside and rush the passer would be a nice fit. Getting back to Cali could be appealing to him and I honestly see the Niners as one of the few possible suitors to trade for his full contract and just overpay him for a few years (we have $100m cap space after Kap opts out/is cut and won't be able to spend it all anyways so overpaying a guy a few years is better than having a hole).
It seems like a given that Clay will be moved or cut unless he agrees to a fairly significant pay cut. So what are the odds that he agrees to do so? Do you find it likely that he stays in GB for significantly less $$$ or do you think a trade/cut is more likely? Try taking your fandom/personal desires out of it as best you can if you could - it isn't easy I know but I'm trying to figure out if there's a possibility here...
Of he is moved, do you foresee him chasing the $$$ or going to andesirable living situation or going to a team that can win a ring? Because the Niners won't be in luck if that last one is important lol. I've read a few things but I've come to find that nobody knows more about their teams than die-hard fans, so go to them instead of some media blowhard who halfway covers all 32 teams at once (or at least most of them, some are good still I guess).
I have a love/hate relationship with GB - you have a ton of Hawkeyes and I'm a die hard Iowa fan, but I also am pained every time I see Rogers doing Rogers things and remember that we chose Alex instead :'(
PS - thoughts on Micah Hyde? Niners getting a Hawkeye would be a dream and his versitility and return ability would be a welcome addition here in San Francisco!
