Welcome Back Craig Nall

I'm sure Brett's happy to see you. With S Aaron Rouse likely to return next week, it was a short stay for former S Marviel Underwood, and now former Packer QB Craig Nall has been signed to take his roster spot. Watching QB Aaron Rodgers run around and take some hits on Thursday did make me nervous knowing that WR Ruvell Martin is the emergency no. 3 QB. Although Nall spent four seasons in Green Bay, it was all during Mike Sherman's time as head coach, so he's new to Mike McCarthy's system. With Favre almost certainly returning next week, it's unlikely Nall will see any playing time anyway, so his transition to McCarthy's playbook shouldn't be a problem.

Still I have to question the timing of the signing. Former Packer QB Aaron Brooks was in Green Bay a couple weeks ago for a workout, but wasn't signed. If they could have signed Nall two or three weeks ago, then Favre's old hunting buddy could have been in Green Bay during hunting season. Although for all I know they bow hunt and still can go out a couple times this year. All the Packers need to do now is get K Ryan Longwell back on the roster and Favre can have a golf buddy back too.
