Last season GM Ted Thompson wanted to upgrade the safety position and signed Seattle's Marquand Manuel in part because he was familiar with him from their days in Seattle. This offseason the Packers need to upgrade the tight end position and it seemed possible that Thompson might pursue TE Jerramy Stevens because their Seattle connection.
However Football Outsiders pointed me to the story explaining why the Packers won't touch Stevens with a 10 foot pole. Thompson did take a chance on WR Koren Robinson last season after all of his legal problems, but the Packers had not shown any interest in Stevens and his arrest should kill any faint interest they might have been harboring.
