Jarrett Is So Slow

USC's pro day workout where WR Dwayne Jarrett ran a 4.60 and 4.65 in the 40 was a few weeks ago, but it is still pretty relevant to the Packers since he is still a possible 1st round pick by them.

Usually a slow 40 time is an indication of a receiver who is going to have problems in the NFL. However Jarrett ran a 4.18 in the short shuttle which is very good and definitely worthy of a 1st round pick.

The big secret to Jarrett's future NFL success will be his work ethic. In the Yahoo comments there are a lot of WR Mike Williams comparisions, but Williams isn't a flop because his 40 time is too slow. Williams is a flop because he is a lazy SOB. How many NFL players are fined by their team because they are overweight? Most players have workout clauses in their contract, but that's not the same thing. Jarrett/Williams comparisions are easy because they both went to USC recently and they both have/had a 1st round draft grade, but Williams' bad work ethic is exceptional. Jarrett has the size and enough speed to make become a great NFL playmaker, but he has got to want it.
