Bob McGinn wrote a good article with a little history of training camp and a few statistics about the number of practices, etc. It isn't a surprise that former head coach Forrest Gregg tried to ruin the long tradition of holding training camp at St. Norbert College since he spent his time as a coach doing anything he could to ruin the team.

Unfortunately the early part of training camp is filled with the basic sound bites from Mike McCarthy and GM Ted Thompson, so there isn't much of interest on the training camp schedule for the first part of August, with the notable exceptions of the July 31st practice at old City Stadium and the scrimmage on Saturday, August 4th. The first real action is the first preseason game on Saturday, August 11th, when we can finally watch all the new players, and players on the bubble.
