The practice on the site of old City Stadium brought on some injuries, showed that rookies play like rookies, and welcomed the return of a star collegiate Wisconsin athlete.
There is still time for him to learn, but rookie RB Brandon Jackson is blocking like a rookie. This is probably the number one reason why he won't be a starter until later season.
FB Brandon Miree and LB Rory Johnson both sat out Tuesday's practice while TE Bubba Franks took a shot to the head. Miree had been starting at fullback but the injury allowed rookie FB Korey Hall to play with the starters instead and Hall made himself known to CB Will Blackmon. Hopefully Johnson can return to the field soon because some people think he has the best chance of any undrafted rookie free agent to make the team. It doesn't sound like Franks' injury is too serious, but hopefully he didn't suffer a concussion.
With the season ending injury to TE Tory Humphrey, the team brought back a former UW-LaCrosse basketball player they tried out this spring, TE Joe Werner. Apparently every team is looking for the next TE Antonio Gates.
