Testing Desmond Bishop

It appeared that rookie 6th round pick LB Desmond Bishop got to play middle linebacker with the second team defense at Pittsburgh, and played ahead of 2nd year LB Abdul Hodge. So far he has remained the backup middle linebacker. Ever since he was drafted, it seemed like Bishop's role would be to try and impress on special teams, if he could make the team at all. All the backup linebackers struggled against Pittsburgh so maybe Bishop outplaying them, however he hasn't yet shown it in a preseason game.
